Marojević families are Croats and they are mostly from Tuzla Region , Bosnia. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Bosanian Posavina (Gradacac area) and in Tuzla Region, Bosnia (Srebrenik area). In Gornji Hrgovi in Tuzla Region (Bosnia) every sixth inhabitant had the family name Marojević.
Prevalence
About 290 people with faimily name Marojević live in Croatia today, in 120 households. There were 110 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number more than doubled. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 24 cities and 28 other places, mostly in Zagreb (55), Vinkovci (45), Gradiste in Zupanja area (15), Brodjanci in Valpovo area (10), and in Osijek (10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 2007 in source Encyclopaedia of Croatian Surnames.
