In Croatia, Malković families are generally Croats (from Valpovo area ), very rarely Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Karlovac and in Valpovo area.
Prevalence
About 50 people with faimily name Malković live in Croatia today, in 19 households. There were 60 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 30 percent. They are located in 7 Croatian counties, in 7 cities and 8 other places, mostly in Krnjak in Duga Resa area (10), Osijek (<10), Karlovac (<10), Cabuna in Virovitica area (<10), and in Delnice (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1936 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
