In Croatia, Majdanac families are predominantly Croats (from the Island of Krk ), rarely Serbs, and very rarely Bosniaks. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Bosanian Posavina (Bosanska Gradiska area) and in Hrvatska Kostajnica. In Kijevci in Bosanian Posavina every eighth inhabitant had the family name Majdanac.

About 30 people with faimily name Majdanac live in Croatia today, in 14 households. They are located in threee Croatian counties, four cities and four other places, mostly in Rijeka (10), Zagreb (<10), Zupanja (<5), Krk on the Island of Krk (<5), and in Gradiste in Zupanja area (<5).

Family name Majdanac is present in 11 countries on three continents. The family name "Majdanac " is used by small number of people in the United States , small number in Italy , and small number of people in Sweden.
