In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Cazins Region, Bosnia (Cazin area) and in Cazins Region, Bosnia (Bihac area).
Prevalence
About 240 people with faimily name Mahmutović live in Croatia today, in 110 households. There were 10 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number multiplied. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 36 cities and 49 other places, mostly in Zagreb (40), Pula (35), Rijeka (25), Vrtlinska (15), and in Split (10).
Outside Croatia
At least two families with this surname emigrated from Croatia to the United States (1) and Sweden (1). Family name Mahmutović is present in 23 countries worldwide. The family name "Mahmutovic " is used by some 300 people in Germany , about 300 in the United States , and some 200 people in Austria.
