Maglić families are almost entirely Croats and they are mostly from Omis area , rarely Bosniaks. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Omis area and in Karlovac.
Prevalence
About 280 people with faimily name Maglić live in Croatia today, in 110 households. There were 220 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 30 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 22 cities and 24 other places, mostly in Zagreb (50), Sculac in Duga Resa area (30), Cista Velika in Omis area (25), Split (25), and in Rijeka (20).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
