Lukačić families are Croats and they are mostly from the Island of Pasman. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and Krizevci. In places Ivanec Križevački and Poljana Križevačka in Krizevci every ninth inhabitant had the family name Lukačić.
Prevalence
About 870 people with faimily name Lukačić live in Croatia today, in 380 households. There were 1000 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 20 percent. They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 46 cities and 119 other places, mostly in Zagreb (120), Karlovac (65), Ivanec Krizevacki (40), Tkon on the Island of Pasman (40), and in Biograd na moru (35).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over forty times, the first time 1693 in source Catholic Church Parish Records.
