In Croatia, Lukacs families are mainly Croats (from Djakovo ), less frequently Hungarians (from Beli Manastir area ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Beli Manastir area and in Bosanian Posavina (Brcko area).
Prevalence
Only a few people with faimily name Lukacs live in Croatia today, in two households only. There were 0 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number multiplied. They are located in threee Croatian counties, two cities and two other places, mostly in Djakovo (<5), Knezevi Vinogradi in Beli Manastir area (<5), Zagreb (<5), and in Jelsa on the Island of Hvar (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over forty times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
