Leško families are Croats and they are mostly from Krapina. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Krapina and Kutina. In places Lepajci and Velika Ves in Krapina every eighth inhabitant had the family name Leško.
Prevalence
About 280 people with faimily name Leško live in Croatia today, in 110 households. There were 200 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 40 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 20 cities and 29 other places, mostly in Zagreb (40), Lepajci (40), Velika Ves (35), Kutina (25), and in Vratisinec in Mursko Sredisce area (20).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
