Lemo families are Croats and they are mostly from Drnis area. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Drnis area and in Split. In Visoka in Drnis area every fourth inhabitant had the family name Lemo.
Prevalence
About 190 people with faimily name Lemo live in Croatia today, in 90 households. There were 140 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 40 percent. They are located in 9 Croatian counties, in 12 cities and 17 other places, mostly in Split (75), Kastel Stari (35), Visoka in Drnis area (15), Zagreb (15), and in Kastel Novi (10).
Outside Croatia
Family name Lemo (including: Lemmo , Lemoh ) is present in 55 countries worldwide. "Lemmo " is used by some 800 people in the United States , about 400 in Italy , and some 400 people in Argentina.
