Kušt families are Croats and they are mostly from Zlatar area. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zlatar area and in Zagreb. In Laz Bistrički in Zlatar area every ninth inhabitant had the family name Kušt.
Prevalence
About 210 people with faimily name Kušt live in Croatia today, in 90 households. There were 210 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number remains constant. They are located in 9 Croatian counties, in 16 cities and 17 other places, mostly in Laz Bistricki in Zlatar area (75), Zagreb (70), Sesvete (15), Zlatar-Bistrica in Oroslavje area (<10), and in Karlovac (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
