Kučera families are mainly Croats and they are mostly from Bosnian Posavina , also Hungarians (from Beli Manastir area ), very rarely Czechs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Osijek and Zagreb.
Prevalence
About 140 people with faimily name Kučera live in Croatia today, in 70 households. There were 240 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 40 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 16 cities and 23 other places, mostly in Beli Manastir (15), Zagreb (15), Osijek (15), Slavonski Brod (10), and in Koncanica in Daruvar area (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over thirty times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
