Kuzman families are usually Croats and they are mostly from Neum (Herzegovina), barely Serbs and Hungarians (Beli Manastir area). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and in Neum, Herzegovina (Neum area). In Rabrani in Neum (Herzegovina) nearly every inhabitant had the family name Kuzman.
Prevalence
About 510 people with faimily name Kuzman live in Croatia today, in 190 households. There were 400 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 30 percent. They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 37 cities and 66 other places, mostly in Zagreb (85), Dubrovnik (40), Metkovic (35), Hum Bistricki in Zlatar area (20), and in Glavina Donja (15).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
