Prevalence
About 20 people with faimily name Kurnik live in Croatia today, in 13 households. There were 10 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number doubled. They are located in only four naselja i to in Zagreb (10), Jastrebarsko (<5), Krizevci (<5), and in Sosice in Ozalj area (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1928 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
