Kuliš families are Croats and they are mostly from western Bosnia. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Western Bosnia (Livno area) and in Middle Bosnia (Kresevo area). In places Miši and Golinjevo in Western Bosnia every ninth inhabitant had the family name Kuliš.
Prevalence
About 230 people with faimily name Kuliš live in Croatia today, in 90 households. There were 20 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number multiplied. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 28 cities and 20 other places, mostly in Zagreb (65), Split (25), Velika Gorica (10), Solin (10), and in Kastel Stari (10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1938 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
