Kudić families can be both Bosniaks (the family name originates from Cazinska Krajina Region , Bosnia) and Croats (also from Cazinska Krajina Region , Bosnia). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Cazins Region, Bosnia (Velika Kladusa area) and in Cazins Region, Bosnia (Bihac area). In Kudići in Cazins Region (Bosnia) every sixth inhabitant had the family name Kudić.
Prevalence
About 140 people with faimily name Kudić live in Croatia today, in 60 households. There were 10 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number multiplied. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 17 cities and 18 other places, mostly in Komesarac in Slunj area (35), Rijeka (35), Karlovac (20), Labin (20), and in Zagreb (10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
