In Croatia, Kubin families are mainly Croats (from Grubisno Polje area ), less frequently Czechs (from Daruvar area ), and barely Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Daruvar area and in Pakrac. In Otkopi in Daruvar area every eighth inhabitant had the family name Kubin.
Prevalence
About 50 people with faimily name Kubin live in Croatia today, in 19 households. There were 40 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 30 percent. They are located and 6 other Croatian places, mostly in Donja Kovacica in Grubisno Polje area (15), Zagreb (<10), Ivanja Reka (<10), Sesvete (<5), and in Kutina (<5).
