In Croatia, Kubik families are mainly Croats (from Osijek area ), less frequently Hungarians (from Beli Manastir area ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and in Beli Manastir area. In Novi Bezdan in Beli Manastir area every fiftieth inhabitant had the family name Kubik.
Prevalence
About 30 people with faimily name Kubik live in Croatia today, in 14 households. There were 50 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 40 percent. They are located in threee Croatian counties, two cities and 5 other places, mostly in Zagreb (15), Suza in Beli Manastir area (<10), Belisce (<5), Batina in Beli Manastir area (<5), and in Bilje in Osijek area (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1927 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
