Krunić families are frequently Croats and they are mostly from Slunj , less frequently Serbs and Montenegrins. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Slunj and Zagreb. In Gornji Furjan in Slunj every sixth inhabitant had the family name Krunić.
Prevalence
About 310 people with faimily name Krunić live in Croatia today, in 140 households. There were 360 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 10 percent. They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 31 cities and 35 other places, mostly in Zagreb (75), Sisak (20), Rijeka (20), Slavonski Brod (20), and in Kutina (20).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1691 in source Catholic Church Parish Records.
