Krt families are predominantly Croats and they are mostly from Buzet , less frequently Italians. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Slovenia and in Buzet. In Krti in Buzet every third inhabitant had the family name Krt.
Prevalence
About 80 people with faimily name Krt live in Croatia today, in 30 households. There were 130 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 40 percent. They are located in threee Croatian counties, in 8 cities and 12 other places, mostly in Zadar (<10), Pula (<10), Novigrad (<10), Gradinje in Buzet area (<10), and in Buje (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1917 in source List of Dignitaries, Officials and Public Servants of the Kingdom of Croatia-Slavonia.
