In Croatia, Kreća families are mainly Croats (from Osijek ), less frequently Serbs, and very rarely Bosniaks (from Zagreb ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Glina and in Bosanian Posavina (Bosanski Novi area).
Prevalence
About 30 people with faimily name Kreća live in Croatia today, in 18 households. There were 30 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number remains constant. They are located in four Croatian counties, in 6 cities and two other places, mostly in Zagreb (15), Sisak (<10), Tenja (<5), Mali Gradac (<5), and in Osijek (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1926 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
