In Croatia, Kreso families are predominantly Croats (from the Island of Brac ), rarely Bosniaks (from Middle Bosnia ), and barely Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Dubrovnik and in Middle Bosnia (Sarajevo area).
Prevalence
About 50 people with faimily name Kreso live in Croatia today, in 20 households. There were 10 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number multiplied. They are located in 8 Croatian counties, in 7 cities and four other places, mostly in Dubrovnik (20), Omisalj on the Island of Krk (<10), Sumartin on the Island of Brac (<10), Slavonski Brod (<5), and in Petrinja (<5).
