Kramar families are almost entirely Croats and they are mostly from Prelog , rarely Slovenes (from Slovenia ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Middle Bosnia (Sarajevo area) and in Zagreb. In Maline in Middle Bosnia every ninth inhabitant had the family name Kramar.
Prevalence
About 680 people with faimily name Kramar live in Croatia today, in 280 households. There were 600 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 10 percent. They are located in all Croatian counties, in 47 cities and 87 other places, mostly in Zagreb (85), Donji Pustakovec in Prelog area (35), Osijek (30), Pula (30), and in Cehovec (25).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
