Kraljević families are mainly Croats and they are mostly from Herzegovina , barely Serbs and Italians (Buje). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Herzegovina (Ljubuski area) and in Herzegovina (Siroki Brijeg area). In Mokro in North Herzegovina every seventh inhabitant had the family name Kraljević.
Prevalence
About 2000 people with faimily name Kraljević live in Croatia today, in 830 households. There were 1100 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 90 percent. They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 71 cities and 159 other places, mostly in Zagreb (530), Split (145), Osijek (70), Draga in Pozega area (70), and in Dubrovnik (65).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over sixty times, the first time 1750 in source 18th Century Census.
