Korkut families are mainly Serbs and they are mostly from Glina area , whereas often Croats. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Glina area and in Zagreb.
Prevalence
About 80 people with faimily name Korkut live in Croatia today, in 40 households. There were 100 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 30 percent. They are located in 8 Croatian counties, in 8 cities and 7 other places, mostly in Zagreb (40), Pjescanica in Glina area (10), Rijeka (<10), Zadar (<10), and in Sesvete (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1917 in source List of Dignitaries, Officials and Public Servants of the Kingdom of Croatia-Slavonia.
