In Croatia, Korijan families are generally Croats (from Buzet ), very rarely Slovenes (from Umag ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Buzet and Pula. In Čiritež in Buzet every fifth inhabitant had the family name Korijan.
Prevalence
About 20 people with faimily name Korijan live in Croatia today, in 10 households. There were 10 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number doubled. They are only located in four Croatian cities and threee other places, mostly in Umag (<10), Labin (<10), Roc (<5), Zarecje (<5), and in Motovun in Buzet area (<5).
