Koraca families are usually Croats and they are mostly from Pazin area , rarely Italians. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Pazin and Pula. In Vejaki in Porec area nearly every inhabitant had the family name Koraca.
Prevalence
About 260 people with faimily name Koraca live in Croatia today, in 100 households. There were 130 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number doubled. They are located in four Croatian counties, in 10 cities and 35 other places, mostly in Visnjan in Porec area (25), Pula (25), Umag (20), Rakotule in Pazin area (20), and in Pazin (20).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over twenty times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
