In Croatia, Koller families are predominantly Croats (from Varazdinske Toplice ), rarely Italians (from Pula ), and very rarely Czechs (from Pakrac ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Pula and Zagreb. In Kapetanovo Polje in Pakrac every twentieth inhabitant had the family name Koller.
Prevalence
About 40 people with faimily name Koller live in Croatia today, in 18 households. There were 20 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number doubled. They are located in 9 Croatian counties, in 10 cities and two other places, mostly in Zagreb (15), Karlovac (<10), Pula (<5), Samobor (<5), and in Kapetanovo Polje (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over twenty times, the first time 1917 in source List of Dignitaries, Officials and Public Servants of the Kingdom of Croatia-Slavonia.
