In Croatia, Klobasa families are almost entirely Croats (from the Island of Mljet ), very rarely Slovenes (from Bjelovar ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Dubrovnik and Zagreb.
Prevalence
About 30 people with faimily name Klobasa live in Croatia today, in 12 households. There were 30 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number remains constant. They are located in four Croatian counties, four cities and four other places, mostly in Sobra on the Island of Mljet (10), Dubrovnik (<10), Zagreb (<5), Babino Polje on the Island of Mljet (<5), and in Mokosica (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
