Surname Klipa in modern Croatia

Klipa families are frequently Serbs and they are mostly from Slunj area , less frequently Croats. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Karlovac and in Slunj area. In Međeđak in Slunj area every sixth inhabitant had the family name Klipa.

About 150 people with faimily name Klipa live in Croatia today, in 70 households. There were 300 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number halved.
They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 15 cities and 25 other places, mostly in Zagreb (25), Popovic Brdo (15), Vukovar (15), Rijeka (10), and in Latin in Slunj area (10).

Outside Croatia

At least four families with this surname emigrated from Croatia to: Germany (2), Canada (1), and to the United States (1).
