Klepić families are usually Croats and they are mostly from Cazinska Krajina Region (Bosnia), rarely Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Cazins Region, Bosnia (Bihac area) and in Middle Bosnia (Bugojno area). In Bihać (in Cazins Region (Bosnia)) every nintieth inhabitant had the family name Klepić.
Prevalence
About 260 people with faimily name Klepić live in Croatia today, in 110 households. There were 210 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 20 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 29 cities and 29 other places, mostly in Zagreb (80), Brodski Stupnik in Pleternica area (20), Rijeka (15), Zavrsje in Slavonski Brod area (15), and in Knin (10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1917 in source List of Dignitaries, Officials and Public Servants of the Kingdom of Croatia-Slavonia.
