Klasić families are Croats and they are mostly from Krapina area. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and Krapina. In places Donje Jesenje and Prigorje in Krapina area every ninth inhabitant had the family name Klasić.
Prevalence
About 940 people with faimily name Klasić live in Croatia today, in 370 households. There were 780 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 20 percent. They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 38 cities and 108 other places, mostly in Zagreb (190), Josipovac (65), Donje Jesenje in Krapina area (60), Krapina (45), and in Draskovic in Novi Marof area (40).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
