In Croatia, Kirlić families are predominantly Croats (from Dubrovnik area ), rarely Bosniaks (from Middle Bosnia ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Glina and in Middle Bosnia (Gornji Vakuf area).
Prevalence
Only a few people with faimily name Kirlić live in Croatia today, in three households only. They are located in only four naselja i to in Rijeka (<5), Zagreb (<5), Strmec in Samobor area (<5), and in Cilipi in Dubrovnik area (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1842 in source Catholic Church Parish Records 1842.
