Kesić families are mainly Croats and they are mostly from Trogir area , also Serbs, very rarely Bosniaks. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Split and Zagreb. In Trolokve in Trogir area every seventh inhabitant had the family name Kesić.
Prevalence
About 610 people with faimily name Kesić live in Croatia today, in 280 households. There were 770 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 20 percent. They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 45 cities and 59 other places, mostly in Zagreb (80), Split (75), Rijeka (30), Trolokve in Trogir area (30), and in Pozega (25).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
