Keser families are mainly Croats and they are mostly from Iloka area , rarely Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and Slunj. In Bijeli Klanac in Duga Resa area every second inhabitant had the family name Keser.
Prevalence
About 600 people with faimily name Keser live in Croatia today, in 260 households. There were 640 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 10 percent. They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 44 cities and 71 other places, mostly in Zagreb (125), Karlovac (35), Modrus in Ogulin area (30), Rijeka (20), and in Staro Petrovo Selo in Nova Gradiska area (20).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
