Keller families are often Croats and they are mostly from Pozega area. According to some sources they are from place Baja near Mohac (Hungary), rarely Germans. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and in Nova Gradiska area. In Alilovci in Pozega area every twentieth inhabitant had the family name Keller.
Prevalence
About 120 people with faimily name Keller live in Croatia today, in 60 households. There were 40 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number tripled. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 18 cities and 10 other places, mostly in Zagreb (50), Valpovo (10), Slatina (<10), Pozega (<10), and in Slavonski Brod (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over forty times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
