In Croatia, Keleman families are mainly Serbs, equally Croats (from the Island of Krk ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Middle Bosnia (Skender Vakuf area).
Prevalence
About 20 people with faimily name Keleman live in Croatia today, in 9 households. There were 10 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number doubled. They are located in threee Croatian counties and four other places, mostly in Porec (<5), Hreljin (<5), Garesnica (<5), Rijeka (<5), and in Punat on the Island of Krk (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1930 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
