Kasalo families are Croats and they are mostly from western Bosnia. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Western Bosnia (Livno area) and in Middle Bosnia (Bugojno area). In Lenđerovina in Middle Bosnia every third inhabitant had the family name Kasalo.
Prevalence
About 630 people with faimily name Kasalo live in Croatia today, in 240 households. There were 100 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number multiplied. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 44 cities and 58 other places, mostly in Zagreb (65), Hrscevani in Imotski area (60), Split (55), Sesvete (30), and in Okrug Gornji on the Island of Ciovo (20).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 2007 in source Encyclopaedia of Croatian Surnames.
