Kasal families are predominantly Croats and they are mostly from Daruvar area. According to some sources they are from Cernik near Nova Gradiska, and are less frequently Czechs (from Daruvar area or from Czechia). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and in Daruvar area.
Prevalence
About 80 people with faimily name Kasal live in Croatia today, in 30 households. There were 80 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number remains constant. They are located in 8 Croatian counties, in 12 cities and threee other places, mostly in Zagreb (35), Koncanica in Daruvar area (15), Daruvar (<10), Petrinja (<5), and in Petrijevci in Valpovo area (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1926 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
