Karamarković families are mainly Serbs and they are mostly from Slatina area , whereas often Croats. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Slatina area and in Sisak. In Kestenovac in Duga Resa area every seventh inhabitant had the family name Karamarković.
Prevalence
About 60 people with faimily name Karamarković live in Croatia today, in 30 households. There were 170 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased significantly. They are located in 10 Croatian counties, in 11 cities and 9 other places, mostly in Karlovac (10), Osijek (<10), Biskupci in Pozega area (<10), Cakovec (<10), and in Koransko Selo in Duga Resa area (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
