Kalajdžić families are predominantly Croats and they are mostly from Vinkovci area , less frequently Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and in Vinkovci area. In Rogolji in Bosanian Posavina every eighth inhabitant had the family name Kalajdžić.
Prevalence
About 120 people with faimily name Kalajdžić live in Croatia today, in 60 households. There were 180 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 30 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 21 cities and 24 other places, mostly in Zagreb (25), Nustar in Vinkovci area (10), Split (<10), Ceric in Vinkovci area (<10), and in Osijek (<10).

Family name Kalajdžić is present in 13 countries on three continents. The family name "Kalajdzic " is used by some 200 people in Germany , about 80 in the United States , and small number of people in Canada.
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1917 in source List of Dignitaries, Officials and Public Servants of the Kingdom of Croatia-Slavonia.
