Kahrić families are predominantly Croats and they are mostly from Zagreb , less frequently Bosniaks (from Bosnian Posavina ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and in Bosanian Posavina (Bosanska Gradiska area). In Obrenovci in Middle Bosnia every eighth inhabitant had the family name Kahrić.
Prevalence
About 160 people with faimily name Kahrić live in Croatia today, in 70 households. There were 20 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number multiplied. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 14 cities and 9 other places, mostly in Zagreb (120), Sesvete (15), Novska (<10), Remetinec (<10), and in Sesvetski Kraljevec (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over twenty times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
