Kadija families are Croats and they are mostly from Koprivnica area. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Biograd na moru area and in Zadar.
Prevalence
About 130 people with faimily name Kadija live in Croatia today, in 60 households. There were 80 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 60 percent. They are located in 7 Croatian counties and 8 other places, mostly in Turanj in Biograd na moru area (45), Djelekovec in Koprivnica area (40), Zagreb (15), Sveti Filip i Jakov in Biograd na moru area (15), and in Zadar (10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1923 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
