Jušić families are usually Croats and they are mostly from Cazinska Krajina Region (Bosnia). According to some sources they are from place Jusici near RIjeka, very rarely Bosniaks. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Sibenik and Zagreb. In places Pjanići and Todorovo in Cazins Region (Bosnia) every tenth inhabitant had the family name Jušić.
Prevalence
About 300 people with faimily name Jušić live in Croatia today, in 130 households. There were 400 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 20 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 27 cities and 38 other places, mostly in Zagreb (65), Sibenik (35), Rijeka (15), Koprivnica (15), and in Buk (15).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over thirty times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
