Jurinović families are Croats and they are mostly from Bosnian Krajina. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Bosnian Krajina (Kotor Varos area) and in Middle Bosnia (Jajce area). In Duratovci in Bosnian Krajina every eighth inhabitant had the family name Jurinović.
Prevalence
About 170 people with faimily name Jurinović live in Croatia today, in 70 households. There were 90 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 80 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 21 cities and 23 other places, mostly in Zagreb (20), Djurdjenovac in Nasice area (15), Opuzen (15), Split (10), and in Rijeka (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
