Jureša families are Croats and they are mostly from Krapina area. According to some sources they are from Barbat on the Island of Rab, where they immigrated from Czechia. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Krapina area and in Zagreb. In Selno in Krapina area every eighth inhabitant had the family name Jureša.
Prevalence
About 230 people with faimily name Jureša live in Croatia today, in 110 households. There were 260 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 10 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 22 cities and 15 other places, mostly in Zagreb (80), Selno in Krapina area (45), Barbat na Rabu on the Island of Rab (40), Rijeka (10), and in Karlovac (<10).
Outside Croatia
At least two families with this surname emigrated from Croatia to Switzerland (1) and the United States (1). Family name Jureša (including: Juresa , Yuresha ) is present in 15 countries worldwide.
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
