Jordan families are mainly Croats and they are mostly from Nin , rarely Slovenes. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zadar and Nin.
Prevalence
About 180 people with faimily name Jordan live in Croatia today, in 90 households. There were 140 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 30 percent. They are located in 10 Croatian counties, in 15 cities and 16 other places, mostly in Vrsi (35), Razanac in Nin area (30), Zagreb (30), Zadar (15), and in Rijeka (15).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
