Ježić families are Croats and they are mostly from Cazma area. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and Cazma. In Buzadovac in Vrbovec area every fifth inhabitant had the family name Ježić.
Prevalence
About 220 people with faimily name Ježić live in Croatia today, in 100 households. There were 350 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 40 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 19 cities and 16 other places, mostly in Zagreb (95), Buzadovac in Vrbovec area (30), Novi Vinodolski (20), Laminac in Cazma area (15), and in Bjelovar (10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over forty times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
