Jerbić families are Croats and they are mostly from Otocac. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Otocac and Zagreb. In Ramljani in Otocac every sixth inhabitant had the family name Jerbić.
Prevalence
About 550 people with faimily name Jerbić live in Croatia today, in 240 households. There were 560 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number remains constant. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 30 cities and 42 other places, mostly in Zagreb (135), Ramljani (35), Osijek (25), Velika Gorica (20), and in Belisce (20).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
