Jeftić families are mainly Croats and they are mostly from Varazdin , often Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and Varazdin. In Kunosići in Middle Bosnia nearly every inhabitant had the family name Jeftić.
Prevalence
About 70 people with faimily name Jeftić live in Croatia today, in 40 households. There were 20 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number more than tripled. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 20 cities and 13 other places, mostly in Zagreb (15), Varazdin (10), Dubrovnik (<5), Novska (<5), and in Josipovac (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1937 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
