Jašarević families can be both Croats (the family name originates from Cazinska Krajina Region , Bosnia) and Bosniaks (also from Cazinska Krajina Region , Bosnia), very rarely Albanians. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Cazins Region, Bosnia (Velika Kladusa area) and in Rijeka. In Donji Ružević in Bosnian Krajina every fifth inhabitant had the family name Jašarević.
Prevalence
About 310 people with faimily name Jašarević live in Croatia today, in 130 households. There were 20 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number multiplied. They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 41 cities and 40 other places, mostly in Zagreb (65), Rijeka (50), Slavonski Brod (30), Split (25), and in Pula (15).
